Boxing Classes
Training Reqiurements
To start boxing training classes you will need a pair of gloves, hand wraps and a skipping rope. You can purchase this equipment yourself and bring your own that you already own, or you can purchase boxing equipment from the gym.
If after training for a period you feel you would like to spar with another person, you will need sparring equipment, which is a pair of 16oz gloves, headgear and mouth guard.
If you need advice on equipment, please ask us at the gym.
Professionals Only Boxing
Trainer: Billy Hussein
Professionals only boxing is just as it says…for our professional and amateur fighters only. During these sessions our fighters spar and work hard in the lead up to their fights and big promotions that our fighters appear on regularly. If you are in the beginners or advanced boxing classes ask our trainers about watching some of the professional only training.
Advanced Boxing
Trainers: Billy Hussein and Maz Hussein
Our advanced boxing classes go beyond covering the basics and if you choose to you can actively spar against a chosen gym member, or be matched up with another gym member by our qualified trainers. But first you’ll need to go through our beginners boxing class if you do not have any real fight training experience.
A typical class will start with a 10-minute warm-up, followed by about half an hour of boxing and finishing with a 10-minute warm-down.
Beginners Boxing Classes
Trainer: Hussein Hussein
Our beginners boxing class covers all the basics and everything else you would not expect to learn in a boxing class.
A typical class will start with a 10-minute warm-up, followed by about half an hour of boxing and finishing with a 10-minute warm-down. Classes will teach you how to punch properly – it’s about technique not strength.
Classes are usually made up of around 15 to 20 people and concentrate on pad work and glove sparring, whilst emphasizing correct boxing stance and footwork.
“Glove sparring” means pairing off with another gym member and throwing punches and combinations at them which they block with their gloves or punching pads. Then you swap and block theirs etc.
Under 14 Kids Boxing Training
Trainers: Hussein Hussein and Maz Hussein
Our under 14’s boys boxing classes are recommended for boys from 8-14 years of age.
Our under 14’s sessions are basically the same as our beginners boxing classes but with an emphasis on treating each child to his individual potential, whilst also teaching the kids to be respectful and kind to each other and everyone around them.
A typical class will start with a 10-minute warm-up, followed by about half an hour of boxing and finishing with a 10-minute warm-down.
If you have any questions about your child training in our under 14’s sessions please contact us >
